The Daviess County YMCA received $15,163 to help extend their after-school program with 2 part-time staff, as well as providing additional items needed in the classrooms. UWDC is happy to provide this essential need during the COVID-19 pandemic! We know working parents are still in need of after-school childcare at affordable prices and this was a great project to help fund!
Bread of Life Ministries was one of our many ERI recipients and they received $3,000 which was able to provide approximately 5,000 boxes of macaroni and cheese and peanut butter jars. Both are staples in American households and go a long way in tough times. Bread of Life distributes food and clothing to various Daviess County agencies and we are proud to partner with them to alleviate food insecurity in the area!
The last of our phase II ERI funds was given to Hope’s Voice (Children and Family Services). They received $6,900 for housing starter kits and tablets for clients to use for job searches. This will also support clients as they transition out of abusive relationships. Due to COVID-19, domestic violence has increased by 85% in Indianapolis.
